EN Ratings - choosing your door closer
Door Closers are rated by opening/closing force "Size". The Size ratings are from EN1 to EN6, with Size EN1 the weakest strength and Size EN6 the strongest. EN1 is also suitable for disabled door applications.
The following are guides only:
Size #1 = 0.45 of a kilogram closing force, minimum
Size #2 = 0.9 of a kilogram closing force, minimum ~standard door width ≤ 850 mm
Size #3 = 1.36 of a kilogram closing force, minimum ~standard door width ≤ 950 mm
Size #4 = 1.81 of a kilogram closing force, minimum ~standard door width ≤ 1100 mm
Size #5 = 2.26 of a kilogram closing force, minimum ~standard door width ≤ 1600 mm
Size #6 = 2.72 of a kilogram closing force, minimum ~standard door width ≤ 1600 mm
EN2 – Max Door Weight 70kg, Max Door Width 850mm,
EN3 – Max Door Weight 105kg, Max Door Width 950mm,
EN4 – Max Door Weight 150kg, Max Door Width 1200mm
Many popular door closers have an adjustable open/close or latch speed setting. Example: If a door closer is listed with a open/close or latch speed of 3-6 then it is adjustable through the Power range of EN3 (1.36 kg of force) to EN6 (2.72 kg of force).

Style and performance come together with the TS.3204 door closer. This door closer is ideal for mid-range contracts. Available in power size EN 2-4, they’re CE marked and classified to meet and exceed European standards. Can be used on a door up to 80kg in weight and 1100mm in width.

TS9205 ARCHITECTURAL DOOR CLOSER (EN2-5)
The TS.9205 door closer is known for high efficiency, dual zone, quality, reliability and ease of opening, making it one of our top specified closers
It assists doorsets in meeting the requirements of Approved Document M and BS 8300. With its easy-to-read instructions and adjustable power EN 2-5 mechanism it saves you approximately 12.5 minutes on fitting time.
Temperature stable hydraulic oil is unique to Rutland closers. This means the TS.9205 can be used in temperatures from -15?C to 40?C.
This product is also available in a range of metal finishes including MARINE 316, a true Stainless Steel finish.
The max door weight is 110kg and the max door width is 1250mm making it ideally suited to most timber or aluminum doors. The TS9205 door closer comes complete with adjustable closing speed, latch action, delayed action and back check.

TS7000 FLOOR SPRING
The Rutland TS.7000 range of floor closer springs are enhanced with their powerful but easy to use cam & roller action mechanisms.
Available in three power sizes, EN2, EN3, EN4, and a very power EN1-4 adjustable power version. This is becoming increasingly recognised especially in the glass industry where quality, reliability, adjustability, and adaptability are all features required.
These Floor Springs are commonly used on timber and aluminium pivot doors with great effect. They are also ideally suited for use in hospitals, surgeries, nursing homes etc, where easy opening is required.

RESTRICTOR STAY - RS.11000
The RS11000 restrictor stay with a concealed rail in the frame is an ideal option for holding an external door. It can also be supplied with a cushion stop or a hold open clip to keep the door in the open position.
Often used on external doors to a loading bay or goods store entrance to stop the door from getting damaged by the masonry or being ripped off their hinges in a windy location.
Available in a heavy duty stainless steel finish.
CONCEALED HEEL CLOSER
The new heel closer suited for pivot doors makes for easy installation, as there is no cutting of the floor required. It includes the cover and top pivot.

Finishes
Most door closers will be of a silver matt finish. Zanda offer a number of finishes. Ask our sales team. They can also be painted to your desired color. Matt black is popular, as is white.
