The Lever 02
Lever 02 is part of the Casts collection. Lever 02 is described as a result of unflinching experimentation, using timeless metals and processes to create a bold piece that reinterprets the ordinary. The design features a long handle that sits upon a small cylindrical structure, creating the appearance of balance. The minimalist rod is designed to be inviting and to encourage connection with the user. Raw bronze material used in the Casts collection. The bronze is characterized as long-lasting and hard-wearing, and its distinctive earthy hue is exposed through minimal processing. The surface texture is bright and oscillates between a vivid metallic gold and a deeper ochre tone.
Over time, as the bronze oxidizes, it darkens and takes on a new form, revealing a history of use and a lived-in appearance. The bronze will patina at frequent points of contact, leading to a variety of tonal changes, and will naturally darken and may develop a verdigris, depending on the environment in which it is used.
Aluminum is chosen for its simplicity and ability to add depth and character to a space. It is also valued for its longevity, adaptability, and versatility. Aluminum can complement both natural and contemporary aesthetics and is highlighted in the Casts collection through the sandcasting process, which is celebrated through the silver tone of the surface. The pitted and poured marks created by the sandcasting process add character and texture to the aluminum.
Patinated Bronze finish used in the Casts collection. The finish is achieved by oil-rubbing the existing bronze, which gives it an aged appearance and darkens the vibrant bronze color into a rich organic hue.
The chemically-aged finish will change over time and may feature lighter areas where the bronze has been rubbed back to a golden tone, due to points of contact. This process creates a unique and dynamic finish that will continue to evolve and change over time, adding character to the bronze hardware.
