Do I need a door stop?
Do I need a door stop? Yes, in most cases a door stop would be appropriate. Without a door stop the door handle will hit the wall. You will cause damage to the wall and the door handle. A door stop will prevent this from happening. The life of the door handle and wall will be extended. What type of door stop will depend on the available space and how the door is hinged. Your main choice of door stop will be floor mounted or wall mounted.

Looking for a concealed door stop
The Fantom door stop is a concealed door stop - you do not see it! The Fantom door stop is fitted under the door and the only visible display is the flush cup on the floor for the pin to sit. When the door is opened the pin engages the cup holding the door in place. The door is easily closed when needed. There is no raised door stop or protruding wall door stop to be seen or trip over. The Fantom door stop is the ideal door stop if you wish to not see door stops.
FANTOM DOOR STOP by TRADCO
Unlike conventional door stops, the Tradco Magnetic Doorstop incorporating Fantom technology poses no trip hazard due to its innovative flush finish and non-protruding pin. The striker plate is fitted underneath the door, meaning there is no hardware on display and all moving parts are hidden underneath the door and in the floor.
Is there a simple hold open door stop?
A simple hold open door stop for internal use would be the magnetic door stop. Most magnetic door stops are not strong so not ideal for windy or outdoor use. For internal use a magnetic door stop where you want the door to stay open is ideal. A magnetic doorstop on bedroom doors, passage doors, dining room doors is an easy way to keep the door open until you are ready to close the door. Most magnetic door stops are not suitable for outdoor situations as the steel plates holding the magnet will rust and cause problems. A hook door stop would be best outdoors.

Hook door stops are ideal for retaining the door in the open position. The hook door stop can be used on gates, patio doors, and of course internal doors. When the door is opened and the hook door stop is engaged, the catch will retain the door from closing until you release it. Similar to magnetic door stops, but the hook door stop is more robust and will handle the windy areas better.
